"A Weed Is Any Plant Out Of Place"

Back in the early 1980's, I took a Plant Science course during my undergraduate work at the University of Idaho.  I don't remember too much about the subject, however, I have always remembered my instructor's definition of a weed, "any plant out of place."  Well, think about this for a moment.  Isn't this all perspective, like everything else in life.  If  we didn't label dandelions as a weed wouldn't they be absolutely beautiful, popping up all over the place in the spring and summer!

I recently attended an extremely, inspirational workshop by one of my all time favorite motivational speaker.  I was amused, however, as at one point he stated, "I don't believe in positive thinking.  If you go into a garden and there are weeds, then you need to see the darn weeds."  If we really understand the power of thoughts and being positive, we must remember that it is not a delusional type of approach or even denial.  It is seeing the weeds, however, not viewing them as negative or ugly.  It is viewing them as flowers and appreciating their beauty.  Okay, you may  be thinking that you could appreciate them more if you didn't have to pull them.  Once again, it is all perspective.  We could weed our gardens in frustration, or we could enjoy being out in the beauty and serenity of nature and use this time as moments of mindfulness.

If we apply this same concept to relationships, anyone who has ever been irritated or annoyed by someone knows that often the more you are around the person the more irritated you become.  What you put your focus on increases and is attracted to you. The next time this happens start to notice at least one positive thing you like about the person.  Every time you think of them or encounter them, notice this one aspect.  You will soon experience a miracle transformation in your reaction to them and most likely even your relationship.

I think it is important for us to take stock this December of everything that has manifested for us this last year.  What lessons have we learned; what weeds appeared in our lives; have we transformed those weeds to what they really are - flowers; do we see our tormentors as our best teachers?

Last month's newsletter contained some wonderful stories about Judy Roger's experiences with using the Law Of Attraction.  The  miracles continued on for her and she once again agreed to have them printed in this newsletter.  Since Judy attended the "How to Live A Darn Good Life" workshop last year she has been making a practice of breath walking every day.   Breath walking is a specific style of breathing and movement that enables the person to become more alert and feel wonderful.  Judy was doing a quiet version of this recently in the nursing home where she works when all of a sudden one of the residents comes out of her room and states, "I notice you are breath walking every day and I wonder if I can join you!"   Not something one would expect normally in a nursing home setting!  Several weeks later, another resident was speaking with Judy and the resident mentioned she wanted to share her Wayne Dyer tapes with her.  If this wasn't enough, Judy was in line at Wal-Mart a few weeks ago.  She got in a conversation with a complete stranger who just "happened to mention" that her father was opening a business near Judy and was looking for someone to do Reiki.

When I look back over the last year I am amazed at how many of the things I had on more vision door have manifested.  Some of you may have noticed that the location of the next "Darn Good Life Workshop" was moved from New Hampshire to Aruba!  That is no coincidence.  For those of you planning to come in January, by the way, we have scheduled one in Manchester for February....or you can come join us in Aruba.

On a final note, back to the "weeds" in life.  If things you are visualizing haven't manifested yet and you are getting weeds instead -  just change your perspective on what the weeds are for you.  What are they teaching you, what beauty and goodness can you get from them?  Things don't manifest immediately in our lives, we need to take action as well as incorporate visualizations and other techniques.  However, believe they Will happen, feel and act as if they have and you will be on your way within the time structure of the Universe.

Blessing for the Holiday Season and New Year!

 Thoughts for the Month

"The law of floatation was not discovered by contemplating the sinking of things, but by contemplating the floating of things."

Thomas Troward

"Every beauty which is seen here below by persons of perception resembles more than anything else that celestial source from which we all come...."

"The moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too.  All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred....unforeseen incidents, meetings, and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would happen come his way."

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
