November - December 2007
Pay It Forward with Gratitude
During the month of November I have often taken time to write a reminder to give thanks on a daily basis for every thing we have in our lives. Thanksgiving is a special and sacred day as it reminds us all to stop and take note of our blessings.
In my recent October course on The Power of Manifesting A Darn Good Life I spoke to the students about doing something loving every day in February rather than just Valentine's Day. Afterwards I started to think how nice that would be if we all did something similar for every day in November.
Here is an idea to consider. Write down a person's name on your calendar for the whole month of November. You can use the same person several times if you don't have 30 people with whom you have contact. Then do something special for each of them every day. Let them know how grateful you are for something they said, something they did, or for just being them. Then ask them to take it forward and to contact someone else to let them know how grateful they are.
This is rather easy. If you have internet access send someone an email greeting everyday. Next time you go to the grocery store or drug store pick up some greeting cards. I like to call this "Just Because I Love You" cards, or "Just Because I am Grateful For You" cards. Send a few cards out a week.
Then of course there is always the old fashion method of giving someone a phone call. Schedule some visits in this month with some old friends that you want to express some thanks to for their friendship. Everyone has time for a cup of coffee or herbal tea. It doesn't have to be a long lunch or dinner meeting if you are stretched for time.
I have suggested in previous newsletter to start each day with thinking about all the things we are grateful for in our lives. Once we start doing this, we notice how everything in our day seems to shift to a higher vibration and loving contacts.
Always remember that those who cause us the most harm and/or frustration are our best teachers. Be grateful for them also.
I would love to hear any feedback about your experiences. So please write to me and let me know some of your stories. I will also be doing one more The Power of Manifesting A Darn Good Life on November 17th. One of the things that is reviewed in this course is how gratitude changes our perspective, our health, our relationships...our lives. Click on the link for more information. If we all take this challenge and contact someone every day in November then we will start to get in the habit of doing this on going. And when that occurs, you will be amazed at how your life will change!
This is the last newsletter for 2007. Blessings to you all for the Holiday Season and have a Joyous and Loving New Year!
Thoughts for the Month
"At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us."
"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we did get sick, at least we didn't die"
"Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of others."
