Reiki Class Experiences

"At first, I thought this was going to be a crazy class.  However, once we started the Reiki exercise, I was in heaven.  I felt so relaxed.  The stress that I had carried into class disappeared.  Although Reiki is something that has existed for centuries, I had never heard of it until I signed up for the class.

I enjoyed knowing that when doing Reiki, I have the power and control.  Many times when I have been ill, doctors can't determine what the problem is.  Then they prescribe me some medicine and many times, I see no results.  I had a back injury on February 27, 2001 that kept me out of work for four years.  I went to many types of physical therapies, aqua, ultrasound , massage and many others and usually I would come out with more pain.  I don't feel this way after doing Reiki.  This Reiki energy medicine has made a great difference in how I feel.

I work for the US Postal Service and this job requires many duties that are very strenuous on the back.  I didn't think I could ever do this work again.  Nevertheless, once I learned abut Reiki, I spontaneously felt better.  I knew right then and there that this was something I wanted to do.  I faithfully did Reiki for the 21 days that the instructor recommended.  What a difference this made for me.  I was able to go through a night of hard work practically pain free.

Diagnosed a few months ago with an illness named Fybromyalgia I lived with much pain.  This illness caused me to have excruciating muscle aches and spasms. Since I learned about Reiki, I faithfully use this energy medicine to help my aches and pains.  I have not complained about muscle and joint pain since.  I will continue to use it for the healing of all my muscle and joints pains, and to relieve me from all the stress that work and school can bring upon me.  In all honesty, Reiki has made a great difference in my life.

"I was so pleased with my results that I begin to do Reiki on my cats.  One had a digestive problem, and the other one was seriously ill.  Reiki has helped them both, and even though the one who had become seriously ill eventually died, I believe Reiki made his death less painful.  During and after the twenty-one days of Reiki, I felt like a different person.  I could make decisions easier, problems did not plague me, but most importantly I was beginning to take steps toward regaining my spiritually.  Now with each passing day of Reiki, I find myself searching for additional answers as I take more risks to achieve peace and inner harmony.

Am I a changed person because of Reiki?  I think I am and so do others.  People have remarked that I seem to have taken on a "Buddha" like quality in my thoughts, word and deeds. For the first time in many years I am able to get at last six to eight hours of sleep a night, and for me who suffered with insomnia these last ten years that within itself is just short of a miracle.  However, the greatest changes that I have experiences are the ones that lie within my soul.  Habits are beginning to change.  I am eating better, taking care of myself physically through increase exercise and reduction of stress.  My diabetes has been more manageable, and I have reduced the amount of cigarettes I smoke on a daily basis.  My goal is to eventually give up smoking all together and with the help of Reiki I am sure this will be obtainable.

For me the class came at a time in my life when I needed something to believe in.  Not only do I believe in the energy medicine of Reiki, I know have begun to believe in myself.

Thoughts for the Month

"If you meet someone whose soul is not aligned with yours, send them love and move along."

"Meditation gives you the opportunity to come to know your invisible self.  It shatters the illusion of your separateness."

"The more you stop to observe animals and learn from them the more healthy and peaceful your life will be."

"Most people are searching for happiness outside of themselves.  That's a fundamental mistake.  Happiness is something that you are and it comes from the way that you think."

From Dr. Wayne W. Dyer
